Looking for someone that keeps the roosters alive

gelatin silver prints with wooden installation, from 110x140cm up to 210x140cm, 2016

Looking for someone that keeps the roosters alive is an installation of eight photographic prints. The series of photographs were made by retracing the steps of the Indonesian warriors and the resistance against the Dutch imperialism in Pemecutan Palace, Denpasar. Layers of video’s and photographs mingle on the lightsensitive paper.  The photographic prints are installed in a pathway where the viewer can navigate through, re-enacting the movements that the camera made through the courtyard.

On the Gerrit Rietveld Academy’s graduationshow Looking for someone that keeps the roosters alive won the Fine Arts Prize. Here after the work was shown in several galleries and project spaces among which gallery “Lumen Travo” in Amsterdam and “Studio Omstand” in Arnhem.
