Six Lucid Sensibilities

Silkscreen frames, light boxes, 164x120cm, 2018

Six Lucid Sensibilities emerged out of a visual research on how the body responds to what we see. After reading a report on how windows influence the recovery of hospital patients, I felt the urge to make my own windows. Therefore I used silkscreen frames, objects that are used to transfer an image on to something else. Each one of the six silk screen frames is installed in front of a lightbox and corresponding to another neurotransmitter. The screens are treated with light-sensitive emulsion, negatives and screen printing ink.

Six Lucid Sensibilities is shown at Art Rotterdam at the Prospects&Concepts exhibition. This exhibition is initiated by the Mondriaan fund to show young talent and curated by Macha Roesink.
